warm woolen comfort
The ridiculously low temperatures today in Seattle have me dreaming of warm, woolen cozyness. We will be heading to Chicago in three weeks, where it’s sure to be even chillier, so I’ve been doing a little online browsing for cozy coats and booties. Hmm…it may be prudent to stock up before we leave…

ski cap candle and sweater sleeve candle :: anthropologie
coat :: anthropologie
leg warmers :: urban outfitters

coat :: old navy (I posted this coat last year too but couldn’t resist posting again because it’s so darn cute! maybe I need to buy one while it’s on sale)
cable fingerless gloves :: forever 21
ice flower brooch :: banana republic
booties :: nordstrom
everyone likes a good scarf, right?

As winter approaches and things get a little chillier around here, we all start to look for ways to bundle up with some cozy accessories. Stella humours me and allows me to think she actually likes wearing little sweaters and rain coats. I found the Mulberry Street etsy shop and I won’t be looking any further for stylish knits for my girl – oh and they have some pretty great accessories for humans too.

I love this tweed bag from Etsy seller breagha – the color is perfect for fall and I can never resist an oversized bow.
2 commentstype coasters

As I was helping to finish up our massive home office overhaul I was enjoying a cold Fat Tire beer and set the glass down on our desk. I realized at that moment we need new coasters to go with our newly re-arranged office. For some reason I’ve always been obsessed with coasters, and found these laser-etched bamboo type beauties at Veer. I love the bamboo texture and the array of different type forms. These, I think, would be an exellent addition to our newly de-cluttered desktop!
2 commentsit’s summer, finally (I think)

Memorial day weekend is the unofficial start of summer, and here in the Pacific Northwest, we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful weekend. Typically Memorial Day weekend is spent indoors, since it’s usually gray, dreary, or raining (or all three) but this year we received a special treat: 3 solid gorgeous days of sunshine and mid-seventies temperatures.
Who knows how long this sunshine will last (summer is so fickle here, we could have a cold and dreary June) but after this beautiful weekend, I’m geared up for a sunny and perfect summer. These wedges scream summer to me – the combo of hot pink and braided rope is so fun (and who wouldn’t want what looks like bougainvillea blooms on their toes?!?) So even if the Seattle weather doesn’t cooperate with my wishes, at least my feet will look sunny and summery.
2 commentsanother way to save the date

I was turned on to these lovelies by one of our brides and had to share. These calendar necklaces are a great way to commemorate your wedding day (or any other important day in your life) and are so much fun! They come in your choice of metal (rose gold, yellow gold, white gold, or silver) in your choice of finish (shiny or matte) with a sapphire in your choice of color marking your special date. There are so many customization possibilities!
2 commentspantone eyewear

I am long overdue for some new glasses – to be perfectly honest, my last eye appointment was so long ago I’m kind of embarrassed to go back to the same doctor. But in any case, I’m really excited to do some shopping for some new specs! So of course, these caught my eye – Pantone Universe eyewear. The arms are interchangeable depending on your mood, wardrobe, maybe even the design project you’re working on that day…

lined paper, anyone?

If you’ve ever scribbled out an idea, sketch, or phone number on a napkin (you know you have) then you’ll love these “paper” tea towels. Available here.
No commentsfresh prints for spring

I love these floral print scarves from Forever 21 – each is under $10! I think I might have to get the yellow one…

Our humble little house has a few great features, and one of my absolute favorites is our front deck. It’s large, gets TONS of sun, and is a great spot to take advantage of gorgeous Seattle summers. Now that it’s finally spring (yay!) we’re trying to think of ways to make our deck more card-playing, dinner eating, wine-sipping friendly.
I’d like to get a table, four chairs, a couple of planters, and some warm accessories. For the color scheme, I’m thinking warm yellow, gray-blue, and pops of orange. In a couple of planters I’d like to plant some bright orange flowers, and in a couple of other planters we’ll keep some herbs.
We are definitely on a budget, so this first board is completely out of the realm of possibility. BUT if money was no object this is totally what we’d like to do with our deck. The second board is far more budget-friendly, keeping some of the more expensive splurges (like the bullet planters) combined with some inexpensive but still stylish furniture.

Silver Dining Table, available at DWR: 1600. | Hip Haven Retro Bullet Planter, available at Velocity: 160. each | Neutra House Numbers, available at DWR: 48. each | Marais A Chairs, available at DWR: 250. each | Crate & Barrel “bristol” pillows (made of all-weather Sunbrella fabric): 40. each | Pro Bocce Set, available at DWR: 200.
total 3376. (yeah, right. in our dreams.)

Ikea Kvarno Table: 129. | Hip Haven Retro Bullet Planter, available at Velocity: 160. each | Neutra House Numbers, available at DWR: 48. each | Ikea Lacko Chair (they come in white, but we’d likely spray-paint them): 20. each | Crate & Barrel “bristol” pillows (made of all-weather Sunbrella fabric): 40. each | Eddie Bauer Bocce Set, available at Target: 55.
total 840.
