where have you been all my life?
I am a huge fan of the summer dress – there is nothing easier than throwing on a fun and flirty dress, wedge sandals, and some lightweight jewelry on a hot summer day. I’d much rather spend my summer days in a comfy dress than in shorts or jeans! I’ve spent the past month searching desperately for some fun dresses and have been irritated more times than I can tell you, dear readers. I am SO sick of the minidresses and floor length maxi dresses! I don’t look good in either. I’d nearly given up hope of ever finding a flattering dress again when I discovered Shabby Apple. I am in love! I’ll take one of each, please!

Whitney has always been drawn to people with eye glasses, and in turn has always wanted me to have to wear glasses. I think this originates from the fact that she has to wear glasses.
Though, I must say, I have secretly wished for bad eyesight just because there are so many cool frame styles out there, to the point where I was actually a little disappointed when I passed my eye exam with flying colors.
It has been a few years now since my last eye exam and I haven’t really thought about this for a while… until I came across these Oliver Peoples glasses. I love these. (Although, I’m not sure I could actually pull them off.) If my eyesight is still pretty good, I may not be able to consider these for another 10 years when it’s likely that my eyesight will start going downhill. By that time, I’m sure I will be nicely seasoned with gray hair, so these might be a perfect eccentric accessory.

I’ve been drawn lately to stark patterns – I’m loving all of the zig zag I’ve been seeing in clothing, stationery, and home decor this year. Some of my favorites:

I am long overdue for some new glasses – to be perfectly honest, my last eye appointment was so long ago I’m kind of embarrassed to go back to the same doctor. But in any case, I’m really excited to do some shopping for some new specs! So of course, these caught my eye – Pantone Universe eyewear. The arms are interchangeable depending on your mood, wardrobe, maybe even the design project you’re working on that day…

We’re knee-deep in business stuff, numbers and spreadsheets, appointments, contracts, and the like. While these things are, of course, an integral part of any business, we’re feeling a little drained. I’m ready to get back to the fun stuff – good design, inspiring clients, and, well, pretty stuff in general…
