another project on the to-create list

This photo from September’s Anthro catalog caught my eye – especially the oversized framed type chart on the left. I would like to do something similar in our home…sounds like yet another project has been added to my list…
No commentstype coasters

As I was helping to finish up our massive home office overhaul I was enjoying a cold Fat Tire beer and set the glass down on our desk. I realized at that moment we need new coasters to go with our newly re-arranged office. For some reason I’ve always been obsessed with coasters, and found these laser-etched bamboo type beauties at Veer. I love the bamboo texture and the array of different type forms. These, I think, would be an exellent addition to our newly de-cluttered desktop!

This gorgeous chest of drawers from the UK’s Kent and London Handmade Furniture is an organizational dream! Inspired by vintage wood type, this piece is custom made to order out of beautifully finished oak. This is on my “never going to happen” wish list – I can’t imagine the cost to ship this stateside! But, in the meantime, I can wish….

Our humble little house has a few great features, and one of my absolute favorites is our front deck. It’s large, gets TONS of sun, and is a great spot to take advantage of gorgeous Seattle summers. Now that it’s finally spring (yay!) we’re trying to think of ways to make our deck more card-playing, dinner eating, wine-sipping friendly.
I’d like to get a table, four chairs, a couple of planters, and some warm accessories. For the color scheme, I’m thinking warm yellow, gray-blue, and pops of orange. In a couple of planters I’d like to plant some bright orange flowers, and in a couple of other planters we’ll keep some herbs.
We are definitely on a budget, so this first board is completely out of the realm of possibility. BUT if money was no object this is totally what we’d like to do with our deck. The second board is far more budget-friendly, keeping some of the more expensive splurges (like the bullet planters) combined with some inexpensive but still stylish furniture.

I’m always on the lookout for new prints for the house (there are too many on my wish list, I can hardly keep up with it) and this Ken Bailey print makes me smile. I think it would look great in our entry way – I love the orange.
