Icy & Jay
Icy and Jay initially approached us wanting a modern and fresh design that conveyed to guests that the wedding, while an elegant affair, would also be a really fun celebration. Working from photos of Icy’s dress, we created a modern floral design that was reminiscent of the lace on the dress but not overly feminine or romantic. The design translated so well into letterpress – the invitations are letterpress printed in an elegant navy and a really deep natural green on 100% cotton paper. We tied in additional shades of green with sage rsvp envelopes and deep mossy outer envelopes. The modern floral design is foil-stamped in white on the envelope along with the return address for an additional unexpected pop.
Icy and Jay’s wedding date was 10.10.10 – Jay is a web developer and was excited with the idea that their wedding date was all ones and zeros, which make up binary code. Playing on that, we added in a string of ones and zeros in the date on the invite – with the date itself standing out in a larger size and different color.
We carried the theme through on to programs and escort cards – Icy and Jay even had it carved into the ice sculpture set up at the bar!
