another way to save the date

I was turned on to these lovelies by one of our brides and had to share. These calendar necklaces are a great way to commemorate your wedding day (or any other important day in your life) and are so much fun! They come in your choice of metal (rose gold, yellow gold, white gold, or silver) in your choice of finish (shiny or matte) with a sapphire in your choice of color marking your special date. There are so many customization possibilities!

chic save the dates

Here’s a small peek at some super-chic save the dates we created last month for a Hawaii wedding. We’re in the middle of working with this couple on their invites, and I promise the invitations will be gorgeous too!

I love how clean and beautiful the save the dates turned out – they were offset printed in two rich colors on a heavy double-thick textured paper. The envelopes were deep bronze with the address in white.

Innovative Save the Dates

A save the date we created this year for one of our destination wedding couples has been included in the Washington DC edition of Brides Local magazine! Ben and Wakako’s save the date was offset printed on shimmery cardstock, with a rhinestone marking their wedding date on a sweet little calendar.

2009 real wedding :: sonya and michael

Let’s kick the week off with an absolute stunner!

Sonya and Michael planned a chic destination wedding in Maui and worked with us to create save the dates, invitations, and reception items. Their invitation suite is offset printed on opal metallic paper in green and chocolate brown, with a surprising pop of pink textured paper lining the envelopes.

The wedding itself was beautifully coordinated by Katy Griffiths of Vows Wedding and Event Planning and these gorgeous photos were taken by Sandra Coan (thank you Sandra, for sharing!).

2009 real wedding :: sacha and will

We had the immense pleasure last year of working with Sacha and Will on their save the dates, invitations, and day-of items for their September 2009 wedding. Sacha has been one of the dearest brides we’ve worked with – she came to us with enthusiasm (which we LOVE) and a clear vision for her big day. After our first in-person meeting, when she and Will stood up to leave, she immediately hugged both Jonathan and I, exclaiming “oh, come on! I’m a hugger!” – and I knew we were going to have a blast working together!

I’ve shared their save the dates and invitations on the blog in the past – but when their photographer, Kelly Chandler, shared these gorgeous wedding day photos, I knew I had to pass them along!

Their ceremony was held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and then the festivities continued by the waterfront at the Edgewater.

Sacha compiled a rock-star team of professionals to help her execute her vision of the perfect day: Janel Schlitt with Occasions Weddings and Events coordinated the event, Athina Athan of Athena Flora created stunning floral designs, and Bonnie from New Renaissance Cakes created their cake.

I LOVE that the motif and monogram we created for their invitations is recreated so perfectly in frosting!

Congratulations again, Sacha and Will! Hugs!

2009 real wedding :: missy and garrett {part 2}

Yesterday we shared the save the dates and invitations from Missy and Garrett’s late summer wedding – now, here are some of the details from their wedding day. First of all, check out the amazing weather – sunny, warm, and gorgeous blue sky (which is nothing to sneeze at here in the Pacific Northwest).

The sunny details were put together by Missy’s amazing team of professionals: wedding coordination was by Keri Cooper from Bliss Events, styling and floral design were by Collected Design. We worked closely with Missy to create programs, menus, escort cards, table numbers, and signage for the event. One of my favorite details from the day is the garden cart where they displayed the escort cards in grass. Beautiful!

Thank you so much to Abbi from Simply Photography for sharing these beautiful images from the wedding day and thank you to Missy and Garrett for letting us be a part of your planning process!

2009 real wedding :: missy and garrett {part 1}

One of our favorite couples we’ve had the privilege of working with this year are the lovely Missy and Garrett, who were married in September on a gorgeous Seattle day at the bride’s family’s home. I shared a sneak peak of their invitations last spring – here are more details from their colorful invitation suite.

Missy and Garrett chose offset printing for their invitations and save the date, which was a perfect option as it allowed us to use large areas of color and reversed text and images. We love their color choices (especially the pop of aqua in the envelopes, which brightens up the gray and yellow in the printed pieces).

Missy and Garrett’s wedding photographer, Abbi from Simply Photography, was kind enough to share some STUNNING details from their wedding day – stay tuned tomorrow for some of the details from their outdoor ceremony and reception!

golden september invitations

You might remember the adorable “our story continues…” save the dates that we blogged about several months ago. The wedding those save the dates belong to is rapidly approaching (it’s next month!) and we have some stunning letterpress invitations to share with you!

The bride and groom, who have been absolutely lovely to work with, had a very clear vision of what they’d like in their wedding stationery – and these beautiful two color letterpress invitations fit the bill. They kept things sweet and simple by using a petite website card, encouraging guests to rsvp online. I don’t know that the photos really show it, but a Swaovski crystal accents the letterpress design perfectly. Their gold envelopes were accented by a very special quote offset printed on the back flap – “For hearing my thoughts, understanding my dreams and being my best friend, for filling my life with joy and loving me without end, I do.” {anonymous}

using photos in wedding stationery

There are so many creative ways to use photos in your wedding stationery – it adds such a personal touch that guests really cherish. We’ve helped our clients use photos in so many different items – from the save the dates through to the wedding programs.

These are just a few of our favorites!

This save the date is so much fun and is one of our favorites. The bride and groom made this save the date sign, which they brought along at their engagement session at Gasworks Park. The back of the save the date contains additional information for their guests – accommodations, etc. {As a side note, we display this save the date at wedding shows that we participate in and it’s always the one item that garners the most attention! It’s a hit!} Engagement photo by Barbie Hull photography, product photo by Kruse Photography.

Another save the date – this time using adorable photos of the bride and groom as kids! The childhood photos are a perfect complement to their theme, “Our story continues…”

This couple was engaged while traveling through Argentina and wanted to share the excitement of that moment with their guests. Their save the dates featured a photo of them immediately after the proposal and you can just read the excitement on their faces. The save the dates also incorporate some vintage, feminine details that are a perfect prelude to the wedding invitations and overall wedding style.

Here’s something a little different: this couple didn’t use photos of themselves in their wedding stationery, but used vintage photos from their wedding location. They were married at the Copper Creek Lodge in Rainier National Park and received permission from the Lodge to use really fun photos of the lodge itself and of vacationers in the park in the 1930s and 1940s.

This couple wanted to add a personal touch to their wedding invitation, so they chose to use an rsvp postcard with their photo on the front of the postcard. Product photo by Kruse photography.

These programs both feature engagement photos in their wedding colors on the programs – a fun way to use beautiful engagement photos and give your guests some eye candy to look at while waiting for the ceremony to begin! Top photo, red programs: photos by Red Fish Blue Fish. Bottom photo, green programs: engagement photo by John and Joseph Photography.

This couple used fun photos taken throughout their time dating on the table numbers throughout their reception. They have traveled together all over the world, so their photos were a great international reflection of their explorations.

These thank you postcards were printed in the wedding colors and feature an engagement shot of the couple. I love the idea of using postcards for thank yous – save a little money on postage! Engagement photo by Bella Rock Studio.

today’s invitation delivery

I’m packing up a gorgeous set of invitations to deliver today for a February wedding in Hawaii. I LOVE the color scheme (green and brown with splashes of hot pink!!) and I can’t wait to share more photos of how gorgeous these are! You may remember the post about their chic save the dates here

The couple chose to go with offset printing on gorgeous metallic paper. The envelopes are lined with hot pink paper with a really nice texture to it. Finally, everything is sealed up with a hot pink seal containing the couple’s initials.

More photos later – or, if you’re attending the Seattle Wedding Show at the Washington State Convention Center January 3rd and 4th, stop by our booth (booth # 1428) to see these (and many others!) in person.
